Yankees’ Aaron Boone tells Blue Jays coach to ‘Sit the bleep down!’ as rivalry overheats again

TORONTO — These guys really don't like each other.

The Yankees figuratively told the Toronto Blue Jays to sit down and shut up with Thursday night's 4-2 victory in Toronto — the Yankees’ third win in the series — but they also told them literally:

Manager Aaron Boone appeared to shout "You’re [bleeping] crazy. Sit the [bleep] down, Pete," at Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker during the triumph. (You can see the video here.)

After the game, Boone deflected when asked about all of the antics during the acrimonious four-game series, which included fat-shaming by Blue Jays manager John Schneider, cheating accusations fired at Yankees slugger Aaron Judge, bickering over possible sign stealing, actual cheating by Yankees pitcher Domingo German, arguing over the positioning of third-base coaches and taunting by both teams.

The latest exchange was sparked when Walker was screaming at third base coach Luis Rojas.

"Oh, I don't know. He was yelling at Luis again," Boone said. "I’m glad we’re leaving. I was trying to stay out of [interacting with their] dugout and I violated my own rules to our guys, so I apologize for that."

It all started after the first game of the series when the Blue Jays wondered aloud if Judge had been tipped on pitches after he glanced at the Yankees bench and hit a home run. It escalated in the second game, when Schneider shouted, "Shut up, fat boy, shut up," at the Yankees assistant hitting coach.

Before Boone screamed it, Judge told the Blue Jays to zip it with his performance.

Over four games in Toronto this week, Judge reached base in 11 of his 19 plate appearances. He hit .429 (6-for-14) with four home runs, seven RBI and five walks. Yankees manager Aaron Boone called it an "MVP-ish" performance, pivotal for the Yankees as they took three of four.

"We were focused on what we can control between the lines," Judge said after Thursday's 4-2 win. "We did a pretty good job blocking out all the noise and distraction the whole series. We just went out there and took care of business."
