Effective Monday, May 15, the Spin e-bike geofence will be updated to reflect the University's designated service area. Students, employees and visitors may use the e-bikes on campus; the e-bikes will not operate if taken off campus beyond the geofence boundary. Users can view available service areas, slow or restricted areas, and parking corrals through the Spin mobile app.
When ending a bike trip, users should park the e-bikes at a Spin parking corral or an existing campus bike rack. Users who attempt to end a trip outside of a designated parking area will continue to be charged by Spin until the e-bike is parked appropriately. Users should confirm that trips have ended through the Spin app.
As a reminder, per the University's Parking Ordinance, bikes should not be parked or stored on campus in any location other than areas designated for bicycle parking. Bikes should not be parked against or attached to trees or other foliage, sign or lamp posts, railings or seating fixtures, or in a manner that will interfere with pedestrian traffic.
